Come meet Dr. Konrad Ng, assistant professor at the University of Hawai‘i Academy of Creative Media, who has been in residence with us at the APA Program since August. What are the ways in which American life has been transformed by new media? What forms of political and cultural presence are enabled by platforms such as YouTube? Dr. Ng explores the grassroots Asian America new media expressions that emerged during the recent presidential campaign and examines how new media platforms such as YouTube became the terrain for confronting stereotypes and putting the Asian American experience at the center of American life.
