SALTAF™ 2005 | South Asian Literary and Theater Arts Festival

This fabulous two-day annual artistic extravaganza included film screenings, literary panel discussions, author readings, and book signings by renowned South Asian artists including Anita Desai, Deepa Mehta, MG Vassanji, Shyam Selvadurai, Nadeem Aslam, Hina Haq, Vijay Seshadri, Anjali Banerjee, Uma Krishnaswami, Vishnu Mathur, and Mitra Sen.

The lucky audience members that got in (we had to turn many, many potential viewers away!) were the very first to watch Deepa Mehta’s highly anticipated controversial film Water which made its U.S. premiere. Mehta flew in just for the event and wowed the crowds!
